Description :
Dedicated to Sheet Metal Manufacturing, the product's main feature is to provide a Catia V5 integrated tool (workbench) for part preparation & programming for contour following machine (milling, water jet, laser cutting).
This workbench is included in NC Manufacturing workshop from the Catia Start Menu.
The integration in Catia V5 makes it possible to exploit directly the native geometry resulting from the design phase and reduced considerably the preparation and programming work of the elementary part.
The preparation work consists of:
• Definition of a manufacturing context by the allocation of a machine and a material to the part
• Automatic detection & verification of the part closed profiles
• Insertion of lugs on profiles
• Insertion of texts for marking operations
The programming work consists of:
• Automatic creation of cutting paths (profile contouring & pocketing operations)
• Automatic creation of drilling & riveting operations
• Automatic creation of marking operations
• Interactive work to create/delete/modify new or existing manufacturing operations
A complementary product is PANOGEN Sheet metal Manufacturing CAA V5 based:
• Production management with possible link to an ERP system

Key Qualification Questions
- concerning the machine tools:
o check that it is the cutting 2,5 axes and contour following machine process,
o check the cutting technology: Laser, Water jet, Ultra sonic and electronic cutter, Milling
- concerning the process: check that it is nest manufacturing
- check that the needs concern 2D parts and not 3D
- check that the cutting machine (if it is not known in the PANOGEN perimeter: LECTRA, TRUMPF, WISSNER, PORTATEC, AMADA, BYSTRONIC, PRIMA, ROFIN, DEJET, FLOW,…) is driven by an “usual” NC (SIEMENS 840D, HEINDENHAIN…) et Text ISO file. Some machines use binary files and it is more difficult for CIMPA to realize the post-processor without help from the machine constructor.
- Check the sector of the customer because PANOGEN is basically dedicated to sheet metal and composite manufacturing but it can eventually be considered to apply the product to sectors needs like textile and wood manufacturing, if these needs are compatible with composite and sheet metal ones.
