Fast Concept Modeller - FCM is a workbench within CATIA V5 that enables the integration and convergence of design and analysis.
FCM was developed in a joint cooperation with BMW and focuses on the needs of the automotive industry in the early concept phase. FCM delivers a fast and intuitive generation of geometrical representations of a car concept and enables an automatic derivation of functional models to analyze and optimize the structure of a new car concept.
FCM is packaged in 3 main modules:
• P1 - FCM Parametric Modeller
• P2 - FCM Analysis Preprocessor
• P3 - FCM Structure Analysis Prrocessor
and two CATIA add-ons:
• Z1 - FCM Section Master for CATIA V5
• Z2 - FCM Attribute Master for CATIA V5
Description :
FCM Parametric Modeller significantly accelerates CATIA V5 and allows for very fast and easy creation of fully parametric-associative concept geometry. Because of being fully integrated in CV5, internal CATIA modeling standards can be incorporated – Upfront CAD/CATIA is possible.
Due to its clear operating concept and lean parent-children relationship, concept models and variants can be designed in CATIA in a highly efficient way. FCM parametric modeller has special, highly flexible technologies designed to manage, adding, changing or breaking associative links whenever required. The levels of details in the model can subsequently be increased without the designer having to exit the CAD system; the complete body in white can be worked upon within the familiar and already existing CAD/CAE process chain. Consequently FCM Parametric Modeller is the ideal tool to meet the increasing requirements of virtual product development.
FCM Parametric Modeller is the core module of the Fast Concept Modeller and is available separately.
