  1. Performance improvements
  2. Interoperability gain
  3. Automatic data checking
  4. 3D PDF publishing
These four new features are the one you where waiting for. They are now available within CADverter v17.2 and also support CATIA V6 3DEXPERIENCE Platform (R2014x)!
With this latest realease, you will be able to work directly within a CATIA (V5 and V6) environmenteliminating external translations. In a word, CADverters check geometry for errors and then validates the integrity of the data as it comes into CATIA. Multi-CAD also tracks changes and updates the master model as each sub-assembly is developed.

Also included in this latest release:
  • Publish 3D Interactive
  • Publish 3D On Demand
  • Publish 3D Automated
Theorem's commitment to keep pace with the latest releases
of CATIA V5 is based on its use of application development utilities provided and supported by the Dassault Systemes themselves. This not only ensures parallel development of new CADverter products, but also completes compatibility with fast-evolving and increasingly capable product development systems found in CATIA V5.

Geometric is a leader in PLM, Global engineering Services and OSPD. In October, they signed an MoU with College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) and Colorado State University (CSU), USA for setting up the ‘Geometric 3D Make Lab’ at the COEP premises.  This lab will be available to student industry specialists and its goal is to explain and develop 3D printing technologies.

Geometrics will invest USD200.000 in this lab in the next 3 years and provide its knowledge and technology on the following subjects: 3D printing, scanning, PLM, CAD and related areas; as well as projects for graduate/post graduate students on the additive manufacturing process

Mr. Manu Parpia, MD & CEO, Geometric said, “We are proud and excited to be associated with this path breaking initiative. Geometric 3D Make Lab will make exploring the power of additive manufacturing easier for the engineering community in Pune. We will get a first-hand view of the challenges and issues faced by users during 3D printing, helping us enhance our products and solutions for the design and manufacturing process of the future, thus enabling us to better serve our global customers. Moreover, I think it is critical for business and academia to come together for such commitments and hone the skills of the next generation of talent in our country.”

ICAM Technologies Corporation announces that it will launch *Integrated PSE V21, the latest version of its integrated Post-processing, Simulation & Emulation software, at IMTS 2014 (Booth: E-3217).

Inside a single software platform, Integrated PSE provides a unique environment for Post-processing, Simulation and Emulation (for G-Code) that interfaces with the most popular CAD/CAM/PLM systems, CNC controllers and machine tools on the market.

Integrated PSE V21 features SmartPATHTM, patent pending software created to optimize positioning tool paths during post-processing and simulation. SmartPATH provides savings both in CNC run-time positioning and in CAD/CAM tool path preparation.

Rapid positioning motions generated by CAD/CAM software do not take into account machine tool kinematics, work piece setup and travel limitations and therefore, place the burden of responsibility for safe and efficient positioning onto the NC programmer.

SmartPATH identifies inefficient and unsafe positioning motions and automatically replaces them with optimized collision-free safe motions based on the actual machine tool kinematics, physical travel limits, axes positioning rates and the dynamically changing state of the in-process stock.

Building on advanced forward-looking features such as path planning and rotary axes pre-positioning/winding, developed to enhance the machining process while avoiding dwell marks, over-traveling and rotary repositioning, Integrated PSE V21 offers an array of new features including:

  • SmartFEED: This optional module adjusts the cutting feed-rate (and if desired, the spindle speed as well), to ensure a constant safe material removal rate.
  • SmartCUT: This optional module automatically adjusts cutting motions, to eliminate unnecessary feed motions when the tool is not in contact with the material. These so called "air cuts" provide no value and can be difficult to resolve from the CAM system. SmartCUT also shortens rapid entry and extends feed exit motions to ensure cutting efficiency and safety.
  • Multi-Setup: This V21 feature supports Virtual Machine simulation of manufacturing processes that involve one or more changes of clamping and/or part location on the machine. Multi-setup also automatically tracks the in-process stock state as a part progresses from one manufacturing program to another.
  • Simulation Recording: This V21 feature automatically records the complete post-processing & simulation session for later review and analysis.

Media collaboration facilitates direct, free access for the engineering community to hundreds of purchased parts catalogs.

Amberg (Germany), October 7, 2014 – TraceParts, a leading provider of digital 3D content for product planning and engineering, today announced its media collaboration with the Techniker-Forum (Engineers Forum).

This will mean that more than 100 million 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for all current CAD systems will now be available to visitors from the Techniker-Forum for them to download for free. The CAD models are supplied from hundreds of catalogs from world-leading component manufacturers such as Binder, Bosch Rexroth, Euchner, Igus, Item, Phoenix Contact, Schaeffler Technologies (INA/FAG), RUD, and many more.

The Techniker-Forum itself is one of the largest communities for nationally certified engineers in German-speaking countries. Its widely visited forums play host to lively discussions on the subjects of nationally certified engineers, training, degree courses and advanced training. There is also a job market and list of engineering colleges added to the services on offer. This is now further supplemented by one of the world’s most powerful CAD libraries.
