Summer time is always a good period to explore new areas and discover new things. This is true for the place you’ll visit this year, the new people you’ll meet but also for new areas on the Web. If, like me, you can’t really disconnect from work even during holidays ( ), remember to have a look to the different PLM MarketPlace channels all over the Web.
If you’re the lucky owner of a smartphone, remember to bookmark the mobile version of PLM MarketPlace to receive our Partners’ latest news right on your phone by the swimmingpool! You can also bookmark our RSS feed.
To keep aware of the latest business discussions around PLM MarketPlace’s referenced solutions, join, read and react on the PLM MarketPlace LinkedIn group. Have also a look at the members list to find new business contacts. By the way, we are close to reach our 1000th member, you maybe?
If you really can’t disconnect from work and your smartphone/laptop and want to chat with other PLM users/professionals/experts/partners, then PLM MarketPlace Twitter is made for you! Like LinkedIn, it is totally free. Just sign up and start discussing in less than 140 characters (it’s not always easy but an interesting exercise that definitely shows you how much a 3D drawing helps you to express an idea ).
Finally, after dinner and a walk by the marina, you might want to see a great TV show. What about the PLM MarketPlace TV shows introducing the program’s latest improvements and benefits? These are really great and made on TVnima! We would be very proud to count you among our audience!
Well… I hope everybody will find here the content he/she is looking for! Time for me to wish you a good holiday time and see you back in September with new and exciting announcements on PLM MarketPlace!

Vestas is a leader in wind energy equipment and holds a 23% market share at a global level. Every year each Vestas V90-3.0MW wind turbine can avoid 5000 tons of CO2. The power it generates matches 13,000 barrels of crude oil. Vestas wind turbines generate more than 50 million MWh every year which is enough electricity to supply every household in a country the size of Spain.
In order to offer high quality products, Vestas invests heavily to optimize the design of wind turbines with one priority: increase efficiency. Vestas believes that the design stage is equal to, or even more important than the manufacturing stage. Selecting IGE+XAO’s SEE Electrical as the electrical design reference software was key to Vestas China. The company was looking for a software package which would allow to design both electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, manage wires, cables and shielding and hence generates automatically all types of lists (product, wire, cable and terminal lists).
The first project for which SEE Electrical was deployed was the V60-850KW project. When this project was finished, engineers found that design time has been considerably shortened, efficiency has been significantly increased and the probability of making mistakes has dramatically been reduced. Diagrams are now standardized and the audit work has become much easier. In addition, importing product information through Excel, allows the precise match of wiring diagrams and real products. Also some design works, which was hard to make in the past due to the huge workload, could also be performed after implementing SEE Electrical.
“We are very pleased with SEE Electrical” declared Mr. Zhang Yanmin, Head of Vestas China Engineering department. “What we really appreciate is the fact that SEE Electrical is very intuitive and therefore easy to learn. We believe that SEE Electrical has significantly contributed to the success of our project”.

ELYSIUM'S MultiCAx series is the best solution to save both money and time. Why don’t you solve the issues regarding various CAD systems with our MultiCAx products?
Now you can find the most powerful product line for data exchange on the ELYSIUM’s catalog page in the PLM MarketPlace. The MultiCAx series is an excellent infrastructure for multi-CAD environment: Elysium MultiCAx-IDEAS 3DXML Plug In, Elysium MultiCAx-Inventor 3DXML Plug In, Elysium MultiCAx-OneSpaceDesigner 3DXML Plug In, Elysium MultiCAx-Parasolid 3DXML Plug In, Elysium MultiCAx-ProE 3DXML Plug In, Elysium MultiCAx-UGNX 3DXML Plug In, Elysium V5 MultiCAx-IDEAS Plug In, Elysium V5 MultiCAx-Inventor Plug In, Elysium V5 MultiCAx-OneSpaceDesigner Plug In, Elysium V5 MultiCAx-Parasolid Plug In, Elysium V5 MultiCAx-ProE Plug In, Elysium V5 MultiCAx-SolidWorks Plug In and Elysium V5 MultiCAx-UG Plug In.
Elysium’s MultiCAx enables non-V5 data or non-3DXML data to be handled with your CATIA V5 environment. MultiCAx saves not only money but also precious time. Designers and engineers can work easily on 3D models created by different CAD systems.
Because of our advanced and sophisticated translation technique, less than 0.1% of models generate an error when Pro/E, NX, NX Ideas, CADCEUS, Inventor, OSD, Parasolid and/or SolidWorks data is imported into ENOVIA, DELMIA or CATIA V5, and when Pro/E, NX, NX Ideas, CADCEUS, Inventor, OSD, Parasolid and/or SolidWorks data is translated into 3dxml format. With MultiCAx modules installed, CATIA V5 users simply import data from different CADs to their environment, and all models will be translated perfectly.
Users can treat the imported data without thinking about whether its original environment was CATIA V5 or anything else.
Our solutions offer many advantages:
a) Powerful translation Because MultiCAx uses genuine API for translation, MultiCAx can translate massive assembly data as far as it can be imported to a CAD.
b) Industry-proven Product Data Quality (=PDQ) Due to Elysium’s unique technology, high PDQ is promised.
c) High accuracy When MultiCAx translate the model A into A’ to use in a different CAD, MultiCAx avoids deformation as possible. Unavoidable deformations are limited within the tolerance.
You want to know how you can take advantage of our MultiCAx solution, and to get more information? Please click here.

As you may know, I’m here at the PLM Forum in Manheim, Germany to represent the PLM MarketPlace.
Yesterday, I was exchanging on our “online shopping” experiences with a few colleagues from DS and some of our Partners. It appeared to me that online shopping is not “natural” for everybody, maybe because I’m a “digital native” as Jacques says! As we were talking, the discussion came to the PLM MarketPlace and some people asked me how it is possible today to sell PLM software online?
Well, my answer was simple: “we do it like eBay or Amazon sell books, CDs, DVD,…”. As a matter of fact, it is not 100% true, of course! PLM is much more complex than the latest book of Tom Clancy. But if we focus on the online shopping process, this is exactly the same!
Have a look at this video to see how Amazon and PLM MarketPlace are close:
See the similarities?: - Intuitive search - Product data sheets - Add to cart button - Check out - Contact form
Only five key and quick steps to get the most appropriate product! Of course, the purpose of PLM MarketPlace is not to allow you to pay online but to find a solution you need and then to be assisted by a VAR to get an appropriate price and the knowledge to implement and use it. Connecting Partners in fact!
So, in a nutshell, as I told to my folks yesterday: “PLM MarketPlace is a kind of Amazon for PLM”: browse, find, be contacted, buy!
Ready to shop?

Modelling optical performance of devices in conventional CAD packages has proved either impossible or extremely time-consuming. However, managing light and lit appearance are crucial for lighting systems, style signature and human machine interfaces.
OPTIS has announced that its 3D Textures application will soon be available into SPEOS CAA V5 Based, the CATIA V5 integrated version of OPTIS’s SPEOS light simulation software. SPEOS enables engineering designers to model complex integrated mechanical and optical engineering tasks seamlessly within CATIA V5.
Using 3D Textures For SPEOS CAA V5 Based, a designer can easily create tens of millions of modelled points on surfaces, directly inside CATIA V5, in view to manage the way light is propagated and comes to the final user’s eye.
With the integration of LED sources in more and more systems such automotive tail lamps, luminaire design, lit buttons and backlights in electronics including PDAs and mobile phones, it becomes necessary to generate 3D Textures motifs applied on complex compound surfaces.
SPEOS 3D Textures enables a 3D model to include tens of millions of patterns thanks to a memory requirement optimization (150Mb needed for 1 million patterns), a rapid loading time and fast simulation time (16min for 4 million patterns). It also offers fully optimised multithreaded and 64bit operation, which other packages cannot match.
3D Textures For SPEOS CAA V5 Based will offer advanced optical design capabilities, including modelling CAD patterns onto any possible CAD shape and surface and modelling based on mixing diverse materials of construction.
With this unique 3D Textures function, SPEOS CAA V5 Based will enable both improved design functionality and time-saving in challenging applications such as modelling backlit displays, and the latest designs of automotive lights.
