HomeExtending Dassault Systèmes' Solutions thanks to approved partners

Friday, 24 April 2009

I'm back from COE Seattle!  This was a great event and I want to thank all of the Dassault Systemes partners and customers for their participation and investment in the event. Thanks to all those who stopped by the PLM Marketplace booth!

The PLM MarketPlace community has grown significantly since our inception. Now is the ideal time for partners to take advantage of the site to drive revenue for your offerings. Note that eight of our Software Partners referenced on PLM MarketPlace were also present in the Techni Fair CD-adapco, Cenit, Creaform, Elysium, IGE+XAO, Intercim, Optis and Theorem.

It was also a great pleasure to visit the AMD/Lenovo booth and meet with the North American Eagle Team, led by Driver/Owner, Ed Shadle and Co-Owner, Keith Zanghi. The North American Eagle team is on a quest to break the world land speed record of 763 mph, established by a British team. Their passion for innovation and motivation to bring the record back to the US is amazing!

As a manufacturer in today's economic climate, you are being forced to do more with less. Your company is probably facing uncertain production objectives and a desire to reduce costs while maintaining or increasing efficiency. Moreover, most companies like yours are concentrating less on the grand, multi-year vision for the enterprise and more on its near-term needs to meet today's urgent goals.

View this 40’ on-demand event featuring Intercim & Dassault Systemes/ Delmia to learn how real-time collaboration between engineering and manufacturing can help you. You'll discover how your company can achieve higher rates of production efficiency today, while also putting your company in a good position for the future.

You'll learn how to:
- align engineering data with manufacturing to improve engineering deliverables such as process planning
- leverage manufacturing knowledge in the engineering process to improve knowledge transfer
- increase manufacturing visibility to change in order to reduce the cost of change
- improve configuration management through a tight integration between engineering and manufacturing
- reduce manufacturing waste through visiblity to the right engineering information at the right time.

If it's not already done, it's time for you to mark your agenda! During four days, April 19-22, in Seattle (WA) will be held the COE 2009 Annual PLM Conference & TechniFair. 2008 was a success for PLM MarketPlace at this event, so we decided to come back!

Those of you having the opportunity to come this year are welcome to visit us at our booth. Tom Schorr, Manager, Global Technology Partner Programs & Business Development, from Dassault Systemes North America, will be on hand to host and give you an update on the new happenings with the PLM MarketPlace. Note that eight of our Software Partners referenced on PLM MarketPlace will be also present in the TechniFair: CD-adapco, Cenit, Creaform, Elysium, IGE+XAO, Intercim, Optis and Theorem.

With Michael & Jacques, during COE 2008, it was still all about marketplaces!

Take time to visit them and discover their solutions! Are you gonna be part of "PLM MarketPlace @ COE: the return"? ;-)

PLM MarketPlace's blog is changing!

After beeing in the private section of the PLM MarketPlace since last year, our blog is now public. But the scope of this blog has not changed: we have here a business blog dedicated to professionnals (B2B), with a focus on value added by our network of partners referenced on PLM MarketPlace. In this wordle map of our partner's portfolio, we can see that our partner solutions are mostly CAAV5-based softwares today, providing value to CATIA V5 users.

Wordle: PLM MarketPlace_2

In these pages we will be happy to share experiences about partner products, events, use cases, success stories that can provide value to our community of users. We will welcome contents provided by our referenced partner community. Resellers and customers could propose articles in reference to referenced partner solutions used by Dassault Systemes customers. (Stories about Dassault Systemes' Solutions shall be posted on our corporate website or on our corporate blog).

See you soon on PLM MarketPlace' blog :-)

PS: Sales content has been removed from older blog posts. Confidential information remain on the private section of the Marketplace, with an access limited to VAR members.

On October 2008, we launched a group on LinkedIn. To be honest, neither Jacques nor me hoped it would be so successful. It was kind of a new experience at DS but we thought it could be a good way to connect, not only our Partners, but also with our users and all those interested in PLM and DS products' complimentary offers.

So, almost 5 months later here we are: we have just welcomed our 700th member and became (as of to today) the first PLM-related branded group on LinkedIn! As a matter of fact, even though we are more looking for quality rather than quantity, I must confess that the DS Alliances Team is quite proud of it! Customers, prospects, engineers, software/hardware/services partners, resellers, students, DS people... are part of the group! Even our competitors want to be part of it (using sometimes the craziest stratagemes to fool us :-))!

Many topics are discussed by all those people: info requests on DS Partners' products or (including products, releases, events,...), the future of CAA V5, specific usages of PLM in particular industries, and also job offers all over the world. We are proud to see that some of our members managed to establish a business relationship thanks to our LinkedIn group. It was (and still definitly is) our primary goal!

I really think this is a unique place that gives you a wide range of opportunities in terms of business and knowledge. And, guess what: it is completly free! You just need to create a (free) profile on www.linkedin.com and ask for joining the group PLM MarketPlace!

Now it's your turn!

In a recent newsletter, our partner Vision Numeric told us about their successes in the watch, jewellery and microtechnics industries. Vision Numeric is the software Company behind "Type3" solutions, and these solutions have just been put in place at Createch, a French company based in Besançon (near the Switzerland frontier). Createch is specialized in the design, development and production of these luxury parts, they are working for the most famous names of Place Vendôme (Paris).

Createch has been using CATIA software for many years with two 6 axes Bumotec S191 machining center. When their customers asked for engraved parts, Createch asked it to a Value Added Reseller and was put through Vision numeric. They are DS software partners for 6 years, specialized in artistic CAD CAM, and they could propose a solution. On-site qualifications allowed Createch users to confirm that Vision numeric add-in, Type3 CAAV5 Based, was the answer they needed. Createch placed an order and their team was trained within days.

This story is interesting because it shows that partners solutions made available by our PLM MarketPlace partners can be quickly deployed to Small and Medium customers. We think sharing this kind of experience in SMB can be usefull for other customers also looking for solutions to their specialized needs. All of our referenced partners (Software and resellers) are invited to share with our community their success stories. Stories may be published on this blog and/or on our Customer pages.
