CAD DATA MIGRATION from CADDS to CATIA

Computer Aided Design is now in its fifth generation. The exciting promise of the early 1980s is now being delivered with unimaginable modelling capabilities on the designer’s desktop running on the humble personal computer. Computer Aided Design has come of age and today’s powerful, intuitive, flexible PLM systems can replace everything that went before at a fraction of the cost. Strangely even despite the massive strides that have been made in functionality and usability some of the old systems still survive. They have not just survived but have become entrenched and are acting as a barrier to the extension of new systems that model more easily, have truly integrated databases and are less costly to run.

How do the businesses where CADDS has become entrenched, take advantage of the newer, more powerful and less expensive PLM systems and particularly CATIA V5 and CATIA V6?

You surely know the famous US TV-show CSI:Miami (I personnaly prefer the guys from Vegas) with Caines, Erik, Calleigh and all the team...

Our Canadian friends from Creaform (a CAA V5 Partner part of the PLM MarketPlace program by the way) found a new use to their EXAscan which was used in the show by forensics to process footprints!

Visit Creaform website to watch the scene!

Dassault Systèmes' CATIA, combined with Fluent's Fluent-for-CATIA V5 or CD-adapco's STAR-CAT5 provide you with a complete suite helping you to analyse the most complex flow behaviors around aerodynamics surfaces.

At first sight, we imagine such solutions are used more or less exclusively in the aerospace industry but it is far from being the case! Did you think at windmill for instance?...

To know more about how CFD can help you, just visit our dedicated Computational Fluid Dynamics section (http://www.plmmarketplace.com/campaign/cfd.aspx) on PLM MarketPlace. If you wish further information, do not hesistate to leave a message using the contact forms!

With the recent join of our PLM Marketplace program by Tata Technologies & Incat in 10 countries worldwide, we have in a few weeks dozens of newcomers on this website, and it is the ideal time to point out how it works.

Our program covers now 74 VARs worldwide, within 33 countries and almost 400 sales people participating. Our latest members are in Northern America and Asia / Pacific, geographies were we want to expand. Since this is quite fresh, many Managers contacted are well aware of what can be done, but we need to communicate directly with all Sales people involved on the field.

  1. on www.plmmarketplace.com public page, everybody including customers and prospects has access to technical and marketing information about 130+ products (videos, brochures and testimonials) and may request quotations if they find the specialized product they need.
  2. on www.plmmarketplace.com private page (access on top right with the sign in / login / password) only VAR members of the PLM MarketPlace program will get access. Only in this section will you get a private access to price lists, compensations, EULAs, order forms and a few more marketing materials. This is also here that you will [declare opportunities] to Dassault Systemes partners and start working with them to define customer project scope and handle the sale (use the [request support] button)
  3. on Linked In (http://www.linkedin.com/e/gis/1092407) you have access to our customer / partner / DS forum where you can start interacting with potentially new partners and customers. Although access to this social group is private and allows connection to real human being (not people hidden by a pseudo like on a blog), no confidential business information shall be exposed here.

Please make sure your VAR company is listed in our reseller list with a link to your VAR website. This shall happen only if your website is publishing our label "Connected To PLM MarketPLace". More details on our net-linking VAR program here

These are just a few reminders for all newcomers, don't hesitate to let us know if something else must be clarified. We want with this program to have user feedbacks to make sure Sales people feel good with the information they get here.

On www.plmmarketplace.com, PDM specialists will find information about 2 innovative ways to connect ENOVIA Solutions with others systems or domains:
* Productivity Engineering proposes "SMARTEAM ECAD WebAppSuite" to High-Tech Electronics customers performing Design Capture and /or PCB Design
* ProSTEP proposes "Federated eBOM for ENOVIA MatrixOne and 3DLive" to Industries where products are described by several systems from different domain experts in a heterogeneous PLM landscape.

The private catalog is there to provide you with more information about these two interesting solutions (marketing materials, pricelists,...).

As you see, PLM MarketPlace is more than connecting partners, it also connects systems!
