Home Extending Dassault Systèmes' Solutions thanks to approved partners

As you may have understood, we really believe in the benefits of social networks. Because Facebook, Twitter or YouTube are not all about fun but also business, we've been there for a while now. These channels offer a unique opportunity for us and our partners to show what we do and demonstrate the value brought by our respective solutions. Thanks to social networks, we have never been so close to our customers, offering the possibility to source their inputs and share our knowledge.

As of today, more than the half of the PLM MarketPlace Partners are present on YouTube, Facebook, you name it... Below you will find a list of their respective pages. We tried to make it as comprehensive as possible but we may have missed something, so don't hesitate to add your inputs in the comments!

Today, corporate websites are not the unique source of information anymore. This is something we really have to bear in mind. Social networks are a huge source of information, knowledge and experience sharing. There is a lot of value in them. And, most important, we, the users, are at the centre of it.

Are you active on our partners' social networks? Tell us what are the benefits to get from it! On the opposite, maybe you are part of the people who do not see the benefits of it, we'd be happy to know why!

This post aims at being the "official" page listing our Partners' social networks so bookmark it and visit it regularly since we really believe the list will get longer and longer over the time!

When we launched the PLM MarketPlace LinkedIn group in November 2008, we must confess that there were many "what if..." coming along: what if nobody comes? what if people publicly complain about a product? what if discussions are off topic? what if... what if... what if...
Finally we decided to go and, looking backward, we think it was a wise choice since we have just reached the 2000 members milestone!

People from all over the world, with different PLM related jobs (designers, engineers, purchasers, analysts, students,...), are part of this group. They work for big, medium and small businesses. They are beginners or senior PLM users.

These 2000+ people ask questions about our Partners' solutions. Some of them answer the questions. Others submit an interesting news about PLM. One can offer a job while the other will be looking for a new job. We've got prospects looking for a solution that will help them solve a complex problem too.
In a nutshell, there is food for thought and discussion in this group!

We asked you two months ago what do you expect from a business LinkedIn group and the results are quite interesting, see:
- Get in touch with people having the same interest(s): 31%
- Increase your knowledge about best practices: 24%
- Detect business opportunities: 14%
- Find job opportunities: 10%
All these topics are addressed by the PLM MarketPlace LinkedIn group. This is why we encourage you to join and participate! There is one simple rule with social networks: to receive, you have to give. So, don't hesitate to join discussions, ask questions, share ideas/content with the community of PLM professionals.

On the other hand, it would be interesting for us to know why you are not member of such a group and/or why you are not "active" (meaning that you don't interact in the discussions)?

What if we'd have had to decide today to launch a PLM MarketPlace LinkedIn group? We would have done it, for sure!

PLM softwares are used widely around the globe and this is not going to slow down, hopefully for us :-). This means that from Italy to Mexico, Japan to South Africa or the USA to Australia, thousands of people are using our softwares everyday.

The knowledge and know-how capitalized by these people is a unique and huge value. Knowledge is key for innovation, sharing this knowledge is key for the humanity evolution (and not only in the field of PLM of course). Thus, people need to be connected in order to share and learn. So far, PLM MarketPlace aimed at “Connecting Partners”. We now want to extend this approach to the users.

All over the globe, there are some so called “CATIA User Groups”, gathering people who… guess what… share a common use of Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA ! In order to give you (no matter if you are a customer, a Solution Provider engineer, a VAR Sales Rep, a student…) an easier access to the group that might interest you, we’ve decided to start listing them under the Customers section of the PLM MarketPlace.

Get the best locally

Our goal is definitely to encourage knowledge and best practices sharing, all over the world. Someone at 10 000km from you may have faced the challenge you are facing today and can help you. Users of Dassault Systèmes and its Partners’ softwares are highly competent and talented people. They know the softwares maybe like no others and even sometimes better than we do! These Users Groups are key in our industry, be part of them opens unique opportunity in terms of sharing the knowledge, finding experts, benchmarking best practices, increasing individual competencies.

These Users Groups are traditionnaly specialized in one of our brands (the most famous one being maybe the COE – CATIA Operators Exchange – in the USA), in a specific industry such as automotive (GACI in Germany) or a domain like the NAFEMS for simulation enthusiasts. In conclusion, almost whatever your interest is, you’ll find an appropriate group somewhere.

But it’s sometimes hard to know in which user group you’ll find the right person, especially if we are talking about highly specialized solutions.

Explore new horizons

This is one of the reasons why almost two years ago, we have launched our LinkedIn business group. It offers an additionnal opportunity to find the right contact in a single place and share experience around Dassault Systèmes Partners’ complementary solutions. As of today, almost 1400 people are connected thanks to this business group and have discussions. Don’t hesitate to join this highly focused and specilized community, you may find there the right specialist in the world who can answer your question. To make it easier for all of our users, we have started to implement subgroups that provide a technical forum to discuss highly specialized matters! Last but not least, thanks to these groups, users can benefit from priviledged rates on some software and/or hardware offers.

We hope that this new access to the PLM User Groups offered by the PLM MarketPlace will be usefull for all of you. This page is meant to grow and we hope that we’ll be able to list all the CATIA, DELMIA, ENOVIA, SIMULIA, 3DVIA User Groups all over the world. If you know (or are part of) one that is not listed here, please let us know and it will be added immediately.

Are you part of such groups? Do you think it is a valuable approach for the PLM MarketPlace to connect users not only with software providers but also to users? What do you expect from these groups and what do you bring to other users at the other side of the world? We think you opinion is key, for us of course, but above all, for all people involved in managing these User Groups on a daily basis…

Summer time is always a good period to explore new areas and discover new things. This is true for the place you’ll visit this year, the new people you’ll meet but also for new areas on the Web. If, like me, you can’t really disconnect from work even during holidays (:-)), remember to have a look to the different PLM MarketPlace channels all over the Web.

If you’re the lucky owner of a smartphone, remember to bookmark the mobile version of PLM MarketPlace to receive our Partners’ latest news right on your phone by the swimmingpool! You can also bookmark our RSS feed.

To keep aware of the latest business discussions around PLM MarketPlace’s referenced solutions, join, read and react on the PLM MarketPlace LinkedIn group. Have also a look at the members list to find new business contacts. By the way, we are close to reach our 1000th member, you maybe?

If you really can’t disconnect from work and your smartphone/laptop and want to chat with other PLM users/professionals/experts/partners, then PLM MarketPlace Twitter is made for you! Like LinkedIn, it is totally free. Just sign up and start discussing in less than 140 characters (it’s not always easy but an interesting exercise that definitely shows you how much a 3D drawing helps you to express an idea :-)).

Finally, after dinner and a walk by the marina, you might want to see a great TV show. What about the PLM MarketPlace TV shows introducing the program’s latest improvements and benefits? These are really great and made on TVnima! We would be very proud to count you among our audience!

Well… I hope everybody will find here the content he/she is looking for! Time for me to wish you a good holiday time and see you back in September with new and exciting announcements on PLM MarketPlace!

On October 2008, we launched a group on LinkedIn. To be honest, neither Jacques nor me hoped it would be so successful. It was kind of a new experience at DS but we thought it could be a good way to connect, not only our Partners, but also with our users and all those interested in PLM and DS products' complimentary offers.

So, almost 5 months later here we are: we have just welcomed our 700th member and became (as of to today) the first PLM-related branded group on LinkedIn! As a matter of fact, even though we are more looking for quality rather than quantity, I must confess that the DS Alliances Team is quite proud of it! Customers, prospects, engineers, software/hardware/services partners, resellers, students, DS people... are part of the group! Even our competitors want to be part of it (using sometimes the craziest stratagemes to fool us :-))!

Many topics are discussed by all those people: info requests on DS Partners' products or (including products, releases, events,...), the future of CAA V5, specific usages of PLM in particular industries, and also job offers all over the world. We are proud to see that some of our members managed to establish a business relationship thanks to our LinkedIn group. It was (and still definitly is) our primary goal!

I really think this is a unique place that gives you a wide range of opportunities in terms of business and knowledge. And, guess what: it is completly free! You just need to create a (free) profile on www.linkedin.com and ask for joining the group PLM MarketPlace!

Now it's your turn!

We’re pretty sure that most of you know LinkedIn.com. Not only it provides a lot of professional and business opportunities, it is also a wonderful way to connect and share experiences in a private or business point of view.

We launched the PLM MarketPlace group on LinkedIn last week. Already more than 50 people part of the PLM MarketPlace (VAR Sales Reps, Referenced Partners people, DS staff…) joined. We noticed an impressive buzz effect! For those of you still not part of it, you should join very quickly (before we reach the limit of 10 000 members ;-).

I must clarify something: the aim of this LinkedIn group is only to allow enthusiasts of the PLM MarketPlace including some customers to share experiences and to eventually get connected with new (business) partners. In the near future, we do not exclude to promote it actively to final customers… but it depends on the shape we (you) give to this group!

Remember that www.plmmarketplace.com is THE place where you do business, log opportunities, get special offers, talk about business privately with Referenced Partners, monitor your sales, etc… All this is covered by the Channel Partner Agreement you have signed.
So, ready for this new “2.0 adventure”?
