We're back in Dassault Systèmes HQ after two very great days at ECF 2011. It was the opportunity for us to meet our partners and see some live demos of their solutions. I must confess that year after year, they push the limits of innovation. Each of them came with brand new products or new features. Ready for the tour?

We first met Angela and René from OPTIS. OPTIS is a world leader in optics simulation. They were presenting their new solution THEIA RT, the world's first truly physics-based real time rendering. On the SPEOS side, there is a new feature: Digital Vision & Surveillance. This allows to enhance camera monitoring before manufacturing the good. For instance, based on the source of light, plane manufacturers can now place a camera at the right place in the cargo hold. Pilots will then have a better vision of the situation in case of fire.

David of IGE+XAO introduced the latest features of See Electrical, the company's electrical harness design solution. See Electrical v4 is now multi-user in addition to be collaborative. IGE+XAO is becoming more and more present in the rail industry (they will be present at the BCN Rail tradeshow next week in Barcelona, Spain). Last but not least, they won some significant deals recently, including ISS Reshetnev in Russia (aerospace), Mühlenberg Interior in Germany (aerospace), Agusta Westland (flight simulation) in Italy or Rolls Royce Marine in Canada.

Next partner I visited was Theorem Solutions. Martin gave me an overview of all the translators available and their future migration on the V6 platform. The company is also increasing its presence in the field of consultancy with their solution called Theorem Process Manager. Theorem Solutions is also now offering a data archiving service allowing customers to maintain legacy data for long term storage.

Finally, I had the chance to see the Transcat team from Germany. Martin told me about the latest release (v1.5) of Q-Compare.

Q-Compare delivers extra functionality for the comparison of two CATIA V5 files. Not only geometrical differences are detected, but also modifications of attributes, colours, naming, elements and many more. It is possible to compare drawings, parts and products, either interactively or in batch mode. With Q-Compare Version 1.5 the highlighting of model diviations right within CATIA has been improved. A new function allows to show the compared models in one single window, which makes it even easier to visualize differences. Download the flyer and release note for more details.

As you can see, our partners came with their bags full of new solutions and features. Remember that all these solutions are available on the PLM MarketPlace and that you can request more information and even a quote online!

Now, I'd like to hear from you! Did you attend this year's ECF? What did you think about it? Something you saw/heard and want to share with us? I give you the floor!

Anthony

ECF2010's second day has started with lots of interesting sessions all day long. For those who were not able to visit all our Partners' booths, we continue our tour of Agora started yesterday.

We've met Antoine Reymond, AMD Strategic Alliances Senior Manager, who shared the booth with four other partners. Folks from 3dvia used ATI 3D graphic cards, running on Dell workstations, to run a 3D experience on six screens at the same time. The idea was to offer a deep view of an oil platform, offering a really interesting immersive experience. Combined with the ATI V7800, Fujitsu was able to display very high resolution pictures on their Celsius W380. Techviz was presenting immersive solution and rendering using CATIA and folks from Barco were there to showcase visualization and projection systems. Listen to Antoine and see what the renderings are like on these devices:

Romain Lavault from Intercim stopped by our booth and gave us his impressions on the event. You can find out more about their product Pertinence Suite (simplifying communications between engineering, production operations, ERP systems and across the supply chain) on PLM MarketPlace:

Our tour ends with David Sabot, from IGE+XAO. David performed a live demo of their electrical harness design solution See Electrical Harness. As a Gold partner of Dassault Systèmes and having several common customers present here at the event, David and his team were really eager to be at ECF2010. Find out more about See Electrical Harness in the following video:

We hope you enjoyed ECF2010 too and found this "virtual" tour of the event interesting. What are your feeling about the event? Did you enjoy it as much as we did?

We've published some photos and videos in our PLM MarketPlace page on Facebook, have a look at it and don't hesitate to share yours too!

We hope to see you for the next ECF!

ECF 2010 is now going on and everyone's enjoying it. After this morning's plenary session including some customers' testimonies, guest are now invited to attend sessions, meet experts and Dassault Systèmes' partners in the Agora.

Concerning the PLM MarketPlace, we are located next to Microsoft's showroom where people can relax and have fun by trying the brand new Kinect! It's funny for us to see people jumping and laughing all day long :).

Time to relax with Microsoft Kinect...

Now, we'd like to offer you a virtual tour of the Agora. We've stopped by our partners' booths asking them to present their companies and solutions.

Noomeo: scanning the event

I met with André Joly and Mathieu André from Noomeo at their booth. They were performing a nice demonstration of their product Optinum, a 3D-handheld scanner weighting only 1,8kg. Have a look at the video we’ve made with them to see how easy is it to use this powerful device.

Here are some additional news about Noomeo on this blog.

Rapid modeling with Forcefive
Next stop was at Forcefive's booth where I met Stefan, Christian and Ian. They were happy to show me live the capabilities of their software Fast Concept Modeller used for modeling in the automotive industry.

Find out more about Forcefive on the PLM MarketPlace blog.

I hope you enjoyed these first insights of ECF2010 with our partners exhibiting here. I'll come back tomorrow with some new great stuff to show you.

Talk to you soon...

Here I am, at EuroDisney in Paris, for the Dassault Systèmes European Customer Forum (ECF) 2010.

Everyone's busy here in the Agora in order to be ready to welcome our guests tomorrow morning. I came here with Michael, from the Dassault Systèmes Alliances department in order to have everything ready at the PLM MarketPlace booth. As you can see (and hear ;-)), the atmosphere in the Agora was really... how could I say... "cool" :-)

I had the opportunity to chat briefly with a few partners exhibiting in the Agora, all of them are very exciting to meet you tomorrow. And as far as I could see, they've all got very cool stuff to show you during these days!

Ready to welcome you!

Well, the installation check-list is now complete. Time to get some sleep before two intense days. We can't wait to meet you tomorrow and Wednesday! Stop by our booth, we've got some nice things for you, including goodies but also (and above all) the new version of www.plmmarketplace.com!

Don't forget that if during this ECF 2010 you've got questions regarding how to complement your Dassault Systèmes configuration with DS certified solutions, then the PLM MarketPlace booth is the place to be!

One month ago, we launched our first online contest with an Apple iPad as a prize. Many people showed us they knew the PLM MarketPlace well and we would like to thank all the participants.

Dozens of you gave us the 5 correct answers. However, only one person would be the lucky winner of the iPad. Under the control of Maître Montel, a drawing lot among the persons who gave 100% correct answer took place on Friday, November 19th. We are proud to announce that the winner is Mr. Dylan MacLean (see picture below) from New Jersey, USA!

Dylan works as a Marketing Manager at Magestic Systems, a Dassault Systèmes Software Partner. Note that Magestic Systems’ products are available through the PLM MarketPlace.

"I would like to thank Dassault Systemes and the PLM Marketplace for the iPad. This is a great way to start off the holiday season. An iPad will definitely be a fantastic resource for the future. The PLM Marketplace is also a wonderful resource for business as it has developed into a single location that allows me to find a wealth of information about 3DS products and partners right at my fingertips -- just like an iPad. Again, I want to thank Dassault Systemes and the PLM Marketplace for organizing this contest.", Dylan told us.

Again, congratulations to Dylan (we are sure he’ll download the PLM MarketPlace app for iPhone/iPad :-))!

For those of you attending the ECF starting Tuesday next week, you’ll have a second chance to win an iPad!

See you at Mickey’s…

All good things come to an end…

Checklist before leaving ECF 09: complete! All the stuff is packed, last exchanges of business cards, last meetings and sessions finished. Time for all the attendees to fly back home all over Europe. We definitely had a good time here in DisneyLand Paris with our PLM MarketPlace partners.

European Value Added Resellers and Customers were really impressed by how rich our catalog is! Some of them didn’t even image that so many specific and niche application were available on the PLM MarketPlace. “It’s amazing how so many solutions are easy to find here and within our reach!” a customer told us. Indeed, the combination of Referenced Partners, Value Added Resellers and PLM MarketPlace help customer improve their PLM configuration easily, this was proven and understood during these two days.

Last but not least, we were proud to show the new auto-translation feature we've just implemented that allows all our visitors (on site and online!) to get all the content of www.plmmarketplace.com in their own native language! No need to say that this new feature made great impression during these two days...
Just select a language to get the page translated in a few seconds!

Back in the Agora for a while, just the time for me to finish our “virtual tour” we started yesterday.

Crowded Agora full of people connecting

Let’s start with our neighbors: Optis. Optis is a French company based in the South of France (you know, where’s sun, cause light is very important for them). Pete and his team explain that their aim is to illuminate your design process, make simulation an integral part of your development cycle to reduce time to market and optimize product quality. The idea with the Speos product line is to put the physic based representation of light and human vision inside CATIA V5 as part of the PLM strategy.

Let’s cross the border to see Prostep, our other neighbors who traveled from Germany to show the value of their Federated eBOM solution. As Manfred told us, the software offers the fast way to find the specific solution to reduce end-to-end life systems, integrate expert systems and build your enterprise PLM. With Prostep, you can find opportunities to make your PLM landscape more efficient using V6 technology.

Back to France now to visit our folks from ESI Group. The product lines of ESI Group (PAM-Diemaker, PAM-TFA, PAM-Quickform and PAM-RTM among others) help you to use simulation driven design to get the product right at the first time. The ESI Group team says that they offer CATIA V5 integrated solutions for composite design and manufacturing but also for sheetmetal forming and stamping simulation. These solutions are used in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, consumer goods products,…

We have now finished our Agora tour and I hope it helped you to see more clearly the value brought by our partners. ECF is always a great opportunity for all of us to exchange, discover powerful complimentary solutions to DS products, discuss on new business cases,…

If you attended ECF09, tell us your feelings here! What did you like? Did you discover new things? Have you met our Partners? We’re curious about it!!

Hello all!

First day at ECF 2009 was very exciting with some great testimonies of customers and Bernard Charlès who shared his vision for 2010 and the coming years. I invite you to have a look at our fellows from 3D Perspectives to know more about this first day.

On our side, we had the opportunity to meet several of our PLM MarketPlace partners. All of them came here with the intent of presenting their value to customers. They've all got some great stuff to show and share with the attendees!

I'm glad to take you for a "virtual tour” of our partners' booths and share this ECF 09 with you!

View of the Agora from the PLM MarketPlace booth

We first met with Joel from CD-adapco who told us that his company aimed at making things easy for everyone to leverage knowledge with simulation. Did you have a look at their product STAR-CAT5 that allows you to simulate flow and thermal stress integrated in CATIA.

Our English folks from Theorem Solutions have products that improve the ability for collaboration and communication in an extended enterprise since complex products are not designed by a single company. Keith told us also that Theorem solutions are made to make design engineering processes more efficient and effective for good ROI and deployment of technology.

Next, we met François who is an Application Engineer at IGE+XAO, a French company with products helping you with electrical solutions in the PLM space. With See Electrical Harness people can schematize all cable and electrical solutions in products which need electricity (e.g. lighting in an aeroplane cabin or the radio in a car).

Our daily tour ends with Transcat from Germany. Martin told us that they define their software as an investment in new solutions, into your future. Q-Checker for V6 and Q-PLM for ENOVIA V6 help customers to accelerate process in global developments processes with quality and compliance controls.

See you there again tomorrow to discover the second half of our PLM MarketPlace partners present here. I also invite you to post comments and questions below so that we can share them and bring you answers as quickly as possible.

Finally, don't forget to follow the event on Twitter as I explained yesterday, there's a lot of "Tweeples" around with their smartphones bringing the ECF 09 live to you!

Right... Time for us to get offline for a few hours. See you there tomorrow!

Here we are, just arrived at DisneyLand Paris for the Dassault Systèmes European Customer Forum 2009, aka ECF09! While the first attendees are checking in at their hotel, there is a lot of movement in the Agora!

I came today with Michael to install our booth which stand between two of our PLM MarketPlace partners: Optis and Prostep (thanks Manfred for the tools by the way! ;-)).

Michael fighting against a plastic roll

We feel that all our Partners are very excited to welcome you tomorrow and are currently doing their utmost to offer you the best booth of the Agora! I can tell you that you're going to see some amazing and great stuff in the coming two days!

I know that some of you can't attend the ECF this year. Don't worry: we set up two great online channels where you'll be able to follow us mostly live: the PLM MarketPlace blog (so bookmark us right know if not already done ;-)) and some Twitter accounts: @plmmarketplace (us!) @michael_moser @bdelahaye @3DPerspectives @jon_dutton @nmaritan and @DSCustomersLIVE.

Be our guest!

Well, time for your PLM MarketPlace team to get some food and some sleep (humm... I can ear children screaming next to my room, bad news for me...) in order to be up and running to welcome you tomorrow!

See you at Mickey's then!

Here we are, back from the ECF and we want now to share our impressions about this event, as an exhibitor.

First, we want to thank all people who came to visit us. It was a unique opportunity to see some of your for real and share our impressions about our industry and your concerns.

We are also very proud to see that the PLM MarketPlace gains more and more momentum among Referenced Partners and VARs. All understood the assets of this program and are willing to benefit from it as much as they can, and be assured that we are 100% committed to help you doing so!

While showing all the new features of the program (LinkedIn group, mobile version, etc…), lots of customers came asking us what PLM MarketPlace is. After a brief demonstration, they also understood the benefit they can get from the program coupled with VARs expertise. So, sales people, don’t hesitate to continue the exploration of our catalog with your customers, there’s a lot of business to do!

What about your ECF08?

We now hope to see you again in 2009, with a lot of success stories to share with us at the ECF!!
